Application of Functional Modification of Iron-Based Materials in Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs)

Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) have become a favored approach in wastewater treatment due to the high efficiency and diverse catalyzed ways. Iron-based materials were commonly used catalyst their environmental friendliness sustainability environment. We collected published papers relative application of modified iron-based AOPs between 1999 2020 comprehensively understand related mechanism improve catalytic performance AOPs. Related data materials, modification types, target pollutants, final removal efficiencies, rate constants extracted reveal critical process improving Our results indicated that through various mechanisms enhance materials. The principal aim is increase content available Fe2+ stability system. elevated by following mechanisms: (1) accelerate electron transfer promote Fe3+/Fe2+ reaction cycle system; (2) form chelates with iron ions bond avoid Fe3+ precipitation. further analyzed effect different modifying these two mechanisms. Combining advantages develop composite methods can for treatment.
